Rowan Blanchard Bio

Rowan Blanchard (born October 14, 2001) is an American actress who was featured on Time's list of Most Influential Teens in the year 2015. Her first fame was for her role in the role of Rebecca Wilson in Spy Kids: All the Time in the World (2011), and also for her breakout role as Riley Matthews on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World (2014-2017), both of which earned her Young Artist Award nominations. Since then, she has starred in the role of Jackie Geary on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs (2017-2018), and Alexandra Cavill in the TNT series Snowpiercer (2020-present). Blanchard was the daughter of Elizabeth Blanchard-Boulbol, and Mark Blanchard–Boulbol Yoga instructors. Her grandfather, who is paternal, is from Syrian, Armenian and Lebanese origin, and her paternal grandmother is from England, Denmark and Sweden. Her paternal grandparents met in Aleppo the city of today's Syria. Her name was inspired by a character in Anne Rice's The Witching Hour. Rowan is the younger of two siblings, Carmen and Shane. Blanchard began acting in 2006 when she was five, first being cast as Mona's daughter in The Back-up Plan and was in the main cast of the Disney Junior Original Series Dance-a-Lot Robot as Caitlin. She was first cast in Spy Kids All the Time in the World in the year 2011 as Rebecca Wilson, and in Little in Common as Raquel Pacheco in the year 2011. In January of 2013, Blanchard was cast as Riley Matthews in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World. She also sings the show's title track, with co-star Sabrina Carpenter. The titular character is the daughter of Cory and Topanga from Boy Meets World. She was a participant in the Disney Channel Circle of Stars. Blanchard was featured in the Disney Channel Original Movie Invisible Sister as Cleo at the beginning of January in 2015.
