Dawson was born on May 9th 1979. She is an American actress, producer and
director. Her feature film debut came in 1995's independent drama Kids. She has
since starred in films like He Got Game (1998) and Josie and the Pussycats
(1901), Men in Black II (2006), Death Proof (2008), Seven Pounds (2008) and
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2010). Dawson has also performed voice-over
work for Disney/Marvel, Warner Bros./DC Comics, and ViacomCBS's Nickelodeon
unit.For her performance in Rent, Dawson won the Satellite Award for Best
Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture; for her role in Top Five, she was
nominated for the Critics' Choice Award for the Best actor in a Comedy. Dawson
was born in New York City on May 9, 1979. Isabel Celeste is her mother and is
of Afro-Cuban heritage. Isabel was just 16 at the time that Rosario was born.
Isabel did not marry Rosario's father, Patrick C. Harris. When Rosario was a
year old, her mother married Greg Dawson, a construction worker. In the
marriage, Dawson has a half-brother, Clay, who is four years younger than her.
Dawson is also famous for her role in comic adaptations of novels. These
include Gail in Sin City (2005), Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014), Claire
Temple (2015-2018) as well as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the DC Animated
Movie Universe. She also plays Barbara Gordon/Batgirl for The Lego Batman
Movie. In the year 2020, she played Ahsoka Tano in the second season of The
Mandalorian, and is set to star in the new Disney+ original series Ahsoka. In
addition, she will be appearing in Young Rock, an autobiographical comedy show
created by Dwayne John in 2021.
