Jillian Noel Hennessy

Jillian Noel Hennessy, born November 25 1968 was a Canadian actress from Canada. She is most famous for her performances in American television series Law & Order (where she was Claire Kincaid, a prosecutor) and Crossing Jordan (where she played Jordan Cavanaugh for six seasons). She has also been an actress in films like RoboCop 3: Most Wanted, as well the independent films Chutney Popcorn (which she also co-directed) and The Acting Class (which was written by her). Hennessy was born and raised in Edmonton. John Hennessy her father was a salesman and marketing executive. It required frequent travel which resulted in numerous family relocations. Maxine Hernnessy, Maxine's mother and secretary, died in 1982. Eleanor her paternal grandmother in Kitchener (Ontario) took part in raising her daughter. John Paul Hennessy Jr. is her younger brother. Jacqueline Hennessy is her identical twin sister. Jacqueline is an editor for a magazine in Canada. Hennessy has Irish, French, Swedish and Italian roots from her father's side, and mainly Ukrainian Roma, as well as Austrian, ancestry on her mother's side. After graduating from Grand River Collegiate Institute (both in Kitchener) She then went to Stanley Park Senior Public School. She also busked on the Toronto subway. Hennessy as well as her sister were among the first actors to be cast as twin call girls in 1988's Dead Ringers. Gillian Anderson, who was the actress who ultimately got the role, stated she was selected to portray Dana Scully in The X-Files. She played the character for three seasons, leaving the show in the year 1996.
